ARTEMISIA DRESS
This series is named Artemisia, after one of the only known female Italian painters. Artemisia Gentileschi created masterpieces in painting and drawing during the Renaissance in Italy. She was named one of the best italian artists after Michelangelo during her time period and was the first female ever to be enrolled in the Art Academy of Florence. Artemisia’s paintings focus on the female experience and are a response and protest against the great gender disparities of her time.
